Early May Update!
about 1 month ago – Mon, May 04, 2026 at 08:03:55 PM

Hi Mayors!

First of all, many apologies for the delayed update. We were giving monthly updates for most of the last year, but recently reached a point where we were very close to being able to confirm that we were going to print. We wanted to hold out until we could make a big announcement rather than posting an update beforehand with no new information, but unfortunately, that ended up taking longer than expected and our choice to wait ended up backfiring.

So, what's the situation? Well, after some back and forth, we received a revised price quote from the printer, which was more expensive than we had previously been quoted. This was expected to happen to some degree due to the passage of time since the campaign was originally funded, however, recent events outside of anyone’s control involving the increased cost of oil meant that the revised quote was even higher than we had expected. To assuage any immediate concerns — we are able cover the funds necessary to make up the difference, and we are still going to print imminently! There are no issues with lack of funds.

However, upon triple checking everything after getting that quote we realised that the revised quote had left out the need for hot foil stamping, so the quote is once again being revised to include that. Once that final number is in hand, we'll be ready to pay for it immediately, and we expect that quote to come any day now. Judging by how payment for the Hero Packs went, we expect it to take a couple of weeks for the payment to be checked and approved by our bank. Once that goes through, printing will begin and we'll be checking and finalising everyone's shipping information through Backerkit!

We're so close and can't wait to finally get Animal Kingdom to print, and once it's there we can talk about some of the more fun things we want to talk about!

We've been showing off a lot of cards in these posts, but we don't want to spoil them all as we want you all to see and get excited by nice new things when you start opening your packs. We don't want to go an update without showing off something nice though, so today we'll show you what to look for in the highest of our rarities, the SSR (Signature Series Rare) cards!

The regular LR, in all of its borderless glory!
The super fancy SSR, not only borderless but also discarding most of the frame elements to show off more of the art!

We have the lovely Marchioness Hemlock here, showing off her regular LR frame, as well as her minimalist SSR frame. For her SSR, you can see large elements of the card frame are either entirely subsumed or overlapped by the artwork. The artist's signatures will be printed somewhere on the card in shiny gold hot stamp foil, and the card itself will have selective foiling to really make it stand out!

Each attribute has 1 Legendary card that gets this treatment, and they are very rare! We can't wait to see people start opening them.

Thank you all so much for our continued patience, hopefully you'll be hearing from us against very very soon.

February Update
3 months ago – Sat, Feb 28, 2026 at 11:49:26 AM

Hey Mayors,

There isn't much news this month, other than to say that things have been proceeding as expected -- our contacts at the printer are now back in the office following Lunar New Year, and we continue to anticipate that we'll be able to go to print very soon. Our March Update should be signficantly beefier and contain much more in the way of specific information!

Until then, we have some more card reveals for you to check out down below!

Until next time,

January Update
4 months ago – Thu, Jan 29, 2026 at 09:09:13 AM

Hey Mayors,

We hope everyone's year has gotten off to a good start!

The main update for this month is that after discussing further with our printer, it seems likely that we will be able to go to print in March, as they're closed for the majority of February for Lunar New Year. Once we get confirmation of this after the file submissions have been accepted, we'll let you all know, then start chasing everyone up on Backerkit for up to date shipping information.

In the meantime, we have some more card reveals for you! This time we have a trio of robot adventurers. They're a package deal that can slot into any deck, but you'll need to go all-in if you want to unlock their true potential.

Until next time, and thanks for checking in,

December Update
5 months ago – Wed, Dec 31, 2025 at 08:36:37 AM

Hey Mayors,

We hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season! We’re about to head into 2026, so let’s get into the news for this month! The headline is:

We’ve sent our files to the printer for review this month!

As stated previously, this doesn’t mean immediately going to print, but it means that we are extremely close to it. Once the files are confirmed to be OK, we’ll find out how long we can expect the printing queue to be. Of course, we will be continuing to keep you updated on a monthly basis as this process unfolds!

It’s an extremely exciting time, and we’re looking forward to the game finally finding its way to backers. You can expect to hear more information about our plans for 2026 in coming updates.

We hope you all have a great start to the new year! Below, you can find some new card reveals as a thanks for checking in with the update!

Until next time,

November Update
6 months ago – Sun, Nov 30, 2025 at 10:29:28 AM

Hey Mayors,

Hope everyone is keeping warm as we move into December! It's great news this month, so let's get right into it.

PACKAGING

We're very happy to announce that the packaging design is complete! (Regardless, note that some elements may still be subject to change.)

Here we have the design for the It's a Wild World 1st Edition Booster Box.

As you can see, it features Retriever Knight front and centre, as well as a heavy emphasis on the deep, airy blues of the sky. Our intention for It's a Wild World has always been for it to feel like the start of an adventure, so along with the refreshing blue-green set logo, a design for the packaging that felt reminiscent of setting out on the road under a blue sky felt apt.

We continued this theme into the booster pack design, as well! (The big white boxes are where the bar codes go, if you were wondering!)

And here we have an example of a starter deck!

They're quite similar to the original 3D renders on the Kickstarter project page. Each starter deck has a window in the front that displays the Assistant Mayor card, as well as artwork of that AM on the back alongside the decklist. Above the decklist, you'll find a blurb for the deck, as well as some card images: the deck's legendary adventurer flanked by two other cards.

WHAT NEXT?

Well, as stated before, packaging was the last major hurdle... so what next?! Well, we're currently making all of our final checks, but we anticipate being able to announce in December that our project files have been sent to the printer! To reiterate, this doesn't mean it will immediately go to print: they need to formally check our files and make sure everything is A-OK, but we have been working with them very closely throughout the entire process and don't anticipate any major issues.

So we're almost there! We'll go into further detail about what to expect from the printing process next month, so please look forward to our December update!

Until then,
