Latest Updates from Our Project:

October Update
7 months ago – Fri, Oct 31, 2025 at 10:51:51 AM

Happy Halloween, everyone!

It's a small update this month, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of work going on over at Monster Channel.

First thing's first -- we're still working on the packaging design. If you've been following our updates, you'll know that this has taken longer than anticipated, and that we were looking forward to showing it off this month. The delay is due to some miscommunication with our designer, but these miscommunications have been clarified and we're back on track.

We're still anticipating being able to send our project to the printer by the end of the year. This is because work on preparing card files is more or less complete, save for a few cards that still need foiling layers finalised. This means that, essentially, the last major task remaining is finalising the packaging design. Once that's done, we'll be ready to submit the set for evaluation!

In the meantime, we'd like to show another comparison between a regular card and its Alternate Rare variant.

Alien Artefact was one of the first cards we showed off, and now, we're very happy to be able to reveal that it's also available as an Alternate Rare. It's a powerful building capable of generating a lot of Sola, but it demands tribute every turn, and if you can't appease it, you're in for a world of trouble!

Whereas the original artwork for Alien Artefact depicts it hurtling through the atmosphere as it descends from space, the Alternate Rare artwork shows it after it has crashed into the planet, landing in a forest clearing on the outskirts of your city.

Will you happen upon it and attempt to harness its power for the good of your people?

Thanks for checking in, and we hope to be able to share significant news soon. Until then, take care!

September Update
8 months ago – Mon, Sep 29, 2025 at 07:23:41 AM

Hey Mayors,

Whilst we continue to work on preparing the set to be sent to the printer, we thought we'd give you a look at Alternate Rares! These are one of the rarities above Super Rare that appear in approximately one every two booster boxes. They are not mechanically unique cards. Instead, they are alternate artwork and borderless versions of existing cards from lower rarities! They're also foil to boot.

Let's take a look at some!

Slithering Shadow is an incredibly effective worker commonly used in Subterfuge decks. It isn't a rare card, but it is a staple that's key to making some of Subterfuge's most powerful plays. In the Alternate Rare artwork, we see the same sneaky character operating at night with a knife behind his back -- no doubt ready to make someone lose 2 Renown. Ouch.

But surely there are Alternate Rare versions of cards that are already rare, right? Yes! In fact, let's stay on the snake theme and take a look at Dream Archive Bibliosoph. She's normally available as a Super Rare, but you can score an Alternate Rare version to play those stratagems from your recycling in style.

There are 17 Alternate Rares to collect in It's a Wild World, with 4 in each primary attribute, and 1 in the Neutral attribute. We hope you look forward to finding out what they are when you open them in packs, but keep your eyes peeled for any others we may reveal in the future!

Thanks for checking in. We hope to have updates on the packaging designs for you next month, but until then, have a great October!

August Update
9 months ago – Sat, Aug 30, 2025 at 03:42:34 PM

Hello mayors,

We'll get right into the headline:

The artwork is done! The 'It's a Wild World' set is now art complete. As stated previously, this marks a major development milestone, as artwork remained the largest hurdle for us to clear in order to send the project to print. As always, you can find some artwork at the bottom of the post! So, you may be wondering: what's left to do?

Packaging
We're still working to finalise the packaging. This is going smoothly and we anticipate it to be complete within the next month or so.

Finalising card files
This is all of the work related to actually making the card--putting the text on the card, placing the artwork, designing the foiling layers, and so on. As previously stated, we've been using our time to get some of this done in advance. However, there's still some work left to do here, particularly in designing the foiling. This is actively being worked on.

Checking it twice (and thrice, and fource)
We'll go through the cards with a fine tooth comb to try and weed out any typos or errors. We'll also make any final adjustments to rules text clarity based on feedback we've received.

Communicating with the printer
We've got to run all of this past the printer and make sure it's all good to go, and then when everything is confirmed to be suitable and we're as certain as we can be that there are no errors, we can submit the cards for print! We continue to anticipate that we'll do this by the end of the year--no changes there--however, we anticipate some back and forth discussion with the printer to make sure everything is perfect and printing proceeds without issue.

As a quick reminder: sending the project files to the printer doesn't necessarily mean immediately going to print. The printer may have a queue, but they'll most certainly let us know when we can expect the product to be printed, and we'll let everyone know the moment we find out.

Thanks for checking in, and we look forward to keeping you updated as we head into this next step of the project!

July Update
10 months ago – Sun, Jul 27, 2025 at 09:44:24 AM

Hey Mayors,

Let's get straight into July's update!

PNP/TTS

The official Animal Kingdom TCG Tabletop Simulator mod has been updated. This marks the PNP & TTS both being updated to their final forms (sans any minor fixes we may need to make in the future).

ARTWORK PROGRESS

Artwork is progressing at a very promising pace and we are still anticipating being able to announce that the set is art complete in late august! As usual, we'll attach some of the fantastic artwork you can expect to see on the cards to the bottom of this update post.

Progress is still on track to send the project to the printer by the end of the year. We'll continue to keep everyone updated!

Many thanks and stay cool out there,

June Update
11 months ago – Mon, Jun 30, 2025 at 01:36:31 PM

Hey Mayors,

Let's dive into the update for June:

Artwork Progress

We're extremely happy to say that artwork has been progressing smoothly recently with a consistent stream of finished pieces, some of which we'll share below as we have for the past few updates! There are only ten pieces of art left to complete before the set is fully illustrated, so at this point we're looking forward to being able to announce that the art is all done in -- most likely -- the August update.

We've already been working on getting the master files ready whilst waiting for art, so everything currently remains on track for sending the set to our printer this year. Packaging design is ongoing as well, so we'll share some previews of that as they're finalised and accepted.

Print 'n' Play

The Print 'n' Play has been updated! As previously mentioned, it is now fully illustrated and contains revised decklists, in particular a significantly more playable Natasha Pola deck. The TTS module update will follow in July.

Many thanks for checking out the update,
