Hello Mayors!
We hope you’ve all had a good summer and that this update finds you well! We apologise that there hasn’t been a major update here for a little while, but we’ve been saving a few bits for a larger update post whilst continuing to work on everything behind the scenes.
So what’s been happening?
Artwork Production Continues:
Our talented artists have been diligently working to transfer our creative visions to paper. If you've been following us on social media or are part of our Discord community, you might have seen some of our latest card reveals! For those who may have missed them, we've included a selection of them at the end of this update.
Art is a constant process and even as I type this we have a lot of pieces currently in being worked on. We’re excited to say that we’re approaching the 33% milestone for having the full set illustrated!
Last Chance for Additional Orders with Backerkit:
Backerkit has been open for around 2 months at this point, so we’re going to be locking in orders at the end of September, specifically at Midnight on September 30th! If you've been thinking about adding more items to your pledge, or if you know someone who missed the Kickstarter campaign that would like you to pick them up some cards, now is the time to act!
We've also had a few people asking if it's possible to pre-order anything if they missed out on the Kickstarter campaign. Unfortunately right now there's no way to do that, it's backer-only. We will be opening a pre-order store nearer the end of the year, so those of you who missed out on the Kickstarter can still get yourself some cards!
Stretch Goal Rewards:
Speaking of Backerkit, we’d like to thank you all for all of your extra orders! It didn’t take long for the extra money raised to unlock the Community Vote Promo goal, and we’re only a few thousand dollars away from the Full Art Basic Building Set goal unlocking! If we manage to reach that goal before the end of the month then that will be another cool freebie for everyone who backed :)
Speaking of the Community Vote Promo card, we’ll be holding the vote in October once the Backerkit orders have been finalised, so please look forward to that!
Updated Shipping Table:
We know many of you are eager to know more about the shipping costs for your rewards, and we're sorry that it's taken so long to get that information to you. Long story short, after all the details were discussed we ended up not being entirely happy with the fulfilment company that we’d been in talks with. Things were thus delayed a little as we looked around for someone who provided services that would satisfy what we wanted. Having now found that someone, we’re in the final steps of having a much more accurate shipping table available to you all.
As such, later this week we'll be uploading an updated shipping table so that you all have a more accurate idea of what shipping will cost. While the prices aren't final, we've done our best to provide estimates that are as close to the actual costs as possible at this stage.
Because we won’t be shipping until next year, Backerkit won’t charge you shipping until we’re a lot closer to shipping the final product, so don’t worry about being charged for that at the end of the month.
Tabletop Simulator League Announcement:
We're thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting a 1 month long Tabletop Simulator League, that will be beginning in October! This is a fantastic opportunity for our backers and followers to showcase their skills and immerse themselves in the world of the Animal Kingdom TCG. We'll be releasing specific details about the tournament next week, including rules, registration information, and the list of new cards that you can use to edit your deck. Get ready to put your card-playing prowess to the test!
This will a prototype for Animal Kingdom's Organised Play Program, and we'll have a prizes available for those who earn them throughout the month!

Backerkit Survey and Add-on stores are live!

Backerkit Surveys have now been sent out to everyone!
It may take up to an hour for yours to get to you due to the amount being sent out, so be sure to keep an eye on your e-mails and your spam, in case it gets filtered! These surveys ask a few basic questions pertinent to the tiers that you all backed, and offer you the chance to add additional product to your orders.
We'll be keeping the survey and store open for at least a month, so you don't need to rush to finalise your order. We'll be giving you all plenty of notice before we do close it, so keep an eye on your e-mails and here on Kickstarter for updates!
If anyone here has any issues with anything, don't hesitate to contact us on here, or via backerkit itself.

2 Week Update

Good evening Mayors!
Just over 2 weeks have passed since the campaign ended, which means funds will be in our hands at the beginning of next week. As a result we've been reaching out to artists with card briefs, so we should have a lot of new cards to start showing off in a few weeks time! Deciding what art to get done in the first wave has been fun, but a lot of the Hero Pack 1 cards are the first targets, so please look forward to the next wave of reveals!
Once you've all had a bit of time to sort out your post-KS pledges using the pledge manager, we'll be announcing more information about the Summer League that we'll be holding. If you aren't already on there, please drop into our discord where you can keep up with the latest news as it's announced. There's plenty of time until it begins, so you could use that time to have some games with other folks in the discord server and pick your favourite attribute!
And speaking of the pledge manager, we're so sorry that it's not up yet despite our previous estimates. We've had a few bumps along the road to getting it live, but we're confident that it should appear early next week. It'll be up for several weeks and we'll make sure every single one of you knows the moment it goes live.

Post-campaign add-on status!

Good evening everybody!
Just a small update from our end. The post-campaign add-on store is taking a little longer than planned to make public, but don't worry you won't miss out! It should be available by the end of the week and we'll be making an announcement the moment it goes live!
It'll allow all of you to add additional items to your pledge, and everything that has been available in the campaign will be available in the pledge manager.
We'll have a larger update for you all in a few days, until then take care of yourselves!

Mayors!
A huge THANK YOU to every single one of you from everyone here at Monster Channel! When we launched this project, we hadn't dared to dream it would be this successful, or that Animal Kingdom would gain such an amazing community so quickly. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of you - without you, this game, this world, these characters, and everything else about Animal Kingdom wouldn't be able to come to fruition. It means the world to us.
But a successful Kickstarter campaign is just the beginning of a much longer journey for us! So, what's next for Animal Kingdom?
- The Backerkit pledge manager will become available for ALL backers in the next day or so, and this is where you can adjust your pledges and add extra add-ons if you wish! Backer surveys will be sent out in the coming days as well, to follow up on important information that we'll need from you all.
- Anyone who missed their opportunity to pledge will be able to pre-order product later this year our Backerkit pre-order store. This product won't have the same discounts that were available here though, and not all of the same options will be available!
- We'd like to announce that we will be applying additional funds raised from the pledge manager and pre-order store to our stretch goals! We'll be sure to let you know immediately if additional milestones are reached.
- Our marketing efforts for Animal Kingdom don't stop now that the Kickstarter campaign has ended. We intend to grow Animal Kingdom and its community, so we will be working with content creators, running events, attending conventions -- you name it, we'll be doing it to help get the word out!
- In that vein, we will be running a month-long online league later this Summer! This can be considered a preview of some of our plans for organised play. Exclusive prizes will be up for grabs, and more information will be handed out in due time!
- Our webnovel, Tales from the Animal Kingdom, now has a complete prologue available to read for free online!Volume 1 (the main story) will begin later this year, so keep an eye out for it!
